TJ got me my house! I was looking for my first house and I was soo particular about what I wanted. It was a sellers market and the houses were going under contract in less than 24 hours. TJ was really patient with me, always available to me at any hour (even 11pm) and when I lost out to 3 cash offers and felt defeated, he was there to be encouraging and got me back out there to keep searching. When I finally found “the oneâ€, I told him I couldn’t lose this one and he did whatever magic he did to make sure my offer was accepted without going over my budget. There were a few hiccups with the seller (and an incompetent selling agent) that TJ handled on my behalf to make sure they were held up their end of the bargain. TJ was extremely knowledgeable, patient, professional, and overall a great guy to have in your corner when buying a home. He even went the extra mile a couple years later and he reached out to me to let me know my home value had gone up significantly and that I should reconsider refinancing. That alone saves me a good bit of money a month. Next house, I know exactly who to call.

Although I was unable to purchase a home due to my job moving me out of state, TJ was a great help. He’s very professional & very knowledgeable. I am an inexperienced home buyer and TJ was able to thoroughly explain the process to me and I felt very comfortable. I’m sad that my job moved me away, but if I ever move back to VA I will definitely get in contact with TJ again.

TJ helped me sell a home and buy a new construction home. Timing was very important to me since I needed to list and settle on my current home before I could settle on my new home. All the details were coordinated perfectly with TJ, he even negotiated a free 1 week rent back. Agents can only pull this off if they know both the sellers market and buyers builder. It was flawless! Thank you TJ for your hard work, attention to details and professionalism. Yes, he’s my son. Berkshire Hathaway also recognized his talents with Rookie of the Year and many other award! So proud of you!

I want to strongly discourage anyone from considering TJ Perry as a realtor based on my personal experience with him during the sale of my house. While technically he managed the tasks of a realtor, the promise of excellent customer service he presented fell far short of reality. In a market where customer service can be the deciding factor among realtors, TJ's performance was lackluster at best.As first-time sellers, we were counting on TJ's expertise to navigate us through the process, particularly since we were juggling the demands of a young child. However, when we truly needed him, we felt alone. We had to vacate the house prior to closing due to our out-of-state move. Following TJ's instructions, we left the house in what we believed was a condition aligned with the buyers' expectations. Sadly, his expertise failed us when the buyers' expectations weren't met during the final walk-through. A simple double-check by TJ could have avoided the situation entirely.What was most disheartening was his clear favoring of the buyers' needs over ours in these final negotiations. We felt pressured by TJ to send money via Venmo without the necessary amendment, despite alternative solutions we offered. After the sale was finalized, we heard nothing from him while we were anxiously out of state. Meanwhile, he paid a visit to the buyers, even bringing them a congratulatory bottle of wine.When we expressed our disappointment with his service and shared our experience, his reaction was shocking. He became defensive and aggressive, showing an inability to handle even constructive criticism. Our feedback led to his review of a violation of a code of ethics by the Richmond Association of Realtors, along with a reprimand from his broker at Berkshire Hathaway. Despite his broker advising him to apologize to us, we never received any such apology.It was our intention to help TJ learn from our experience and improve his customer service for the future. However, his inability to accept any form of criticism suggests that others may experience the same lack of professionalism and accountability that we did. We felt that TJ Perry's approach fell far short of valuing their clients' needs and giving effective customer service.

At first, TJ seemed competent and confident, but as the sale of our house progressed, it became clear that he was unprofessional and lacked knowledge. The appraisal for our house was 20k over the list price. Once we accepted an offer, all communication went down to a trickle and we had to constantly ask him what the next steps were.During the final walkthrough, the buyers complained about minor debris (drywall dust on the baseboard, 2 peas next to a rug, and dirt next to the fireplace). TJ demanded we Venmo the buyers $300 to close the sale. Later, we discovered that he knew the buyers had movers scheduled that day and were unlikely to back out.After the closing, we called TJ out and told him we were upset. He became hostile, defensive, and condescending. He refused to take responsibility for his actions, and eventually, we had to contact his broker. She said, “I didn't like the wording on several of the texts you received†apologized on his behalf, and told us he was reprimanded.Overall, TJ did the bare minimum to sell our house and failed as a realtor and being a decent human.

TJ went above and beyond from the moment we contacted him. We moved cross country to Richmond, and he was instrumental in guiding us with researching different areas, narrowing in on our desires during our housing search, and getting an offer accepted on a beautiful home. I highly recommend using him as an agent.

We purchased a new construction home with TJ's help earlier this year. It was quite a process and sometimes overwhelming, but TJ was there to help us every step of the way. He listened to what we wanted in a house and gave us information on what upgrades add the most value to a new construction home. Besides helping us at the design center, he also helped us deal with the paperwork and everything on the back end of the process. I have recommended him to friends and will definitely be asking for his help for our next home.
